Nick Keir is a musician and songwriter from Edinburgh with a career
spanning 4 decades. beginning with Finn mac Cuill in 1973
. He was a member of
7:84 Theatre Group from 1979 to 1981 before
joining
The McCalmans, Scotland's leading Folk Song group in
1982, and has been with them ever since.
As well as working with the Macs Nick has produced 3 well-received
solo CDs and toured extensively with
The Tolkien Ensemble,
recently featuring as soloist alongside Sir Christopher Lee and The
Danish Radio Sinfonietta.
With The McCalmans drawing to a close in December 2010 Nick will
continue both as a soloist and with fellow-Mac Stephen Quigg.
